Senator Robert B. Flanders
District 7

Sen. Robert B. Flanders was first elected to the New Hampshire Senate in November 2000.  Flanders is a Republican representing 15 towns in Hillsborough and Merrimack counties.

Flanders is the deputy majority leader and is chairman of both the Banks, and the Insurance committees. He is also vice chairman of the Internal Affairs Committee, and a member of the Transportation Committee.

Flanders recently retired from a 40-year career in the insurance industry. He has been active in local politics and volunteer organizations for three decades, serving as town moderator for Antrim since 1971, and serving on the Antrim Board of Selectmen, the Contoocook Valley Regional School Board, the Antrim Republican Club and the Hillsborough County Republican Committee.

Flanders is the charter president of the Antrim-Bennington Lion's Club, past president of the Antrim Chamber of Commerce, charter president of the Antrim Historical Society, and secretary of the Maplewood Cemetery Association.

The senator attended public schools in Weare and Henniker and attended New England College.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961, including a tour of duty in Grafenwohr, Germany, in the military police at the 7th U.S. Army training headquarters.

Flanders lives in Antrim.
